Gram-Positive Bacillus Slide, Gram Stain

Introduce your students to the basic morphology of bacillus (rod-shaped) bacteria. These bacteria appear violet or purple because their thick cell walls retain the crystal violet stain used first in the Gram-staining process, making them Gram-positive.
Bacillus megaterium is used to make this slide.
