Carolina ChemKits®: Molar Volume of a Gas

Students experimentally derive the volume of hydrogen gas at ambient room temperature and pressure. Then they use this data to calculate the theoretical volume that 1 mole of hydrogen gas will occupy at standard temperature and pressure (STP). This activity requires approximately 45 minutes of class time. Kit contains materials sufficient for 30 students working in groups of 3.
